World Voice Day Symposium

To celebrate World Voice Day, we held our Voice Symposium in collaboration with our department’s student society, the OMU Speech, Language, and Swallowing Society.

The symposium was held on April 27, 2026, in the Blue Hall of our university’s Atatürk Cultural Center.

Throughout the day, our symposium brought together distinguished guest speakers with expertise in voice, academic staff, students from the Music Education Division of the Department of Fine Arts Education at the Faculty of Education, and students from our department. A wide range of important topics related to voice were discussed.

Following the opening remarks by our Department Chair, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özlem Yaşar, the program continued with a presentation by our esteemed faculty member, Prof. Dr. Esra Özcebe.

A musical performance by Lecturer Ayşegül Keleşler Gümüş and students from the Music Education Division of the Department of Fine Arts Education at the Faculty of Education added a special touch to the symposium.

In the second part of the program, Lecturer Ayşegül Keleşler Gümüş delivered her presentation, moderated by Assist. Prof. Dr. Rıza Korhan Sezin.

Following a presentation by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emel Tahir, moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özlem Yaşar, a quiz and raffle were held for our students, providing an opportunity to review key concepts and reinforce learning.

The symposium concluded on a joyful note.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the OMU Speech, Language, and Swallowing Society, whose efforts were instrumental in organizing this event; our faculty members; our distinguished guest speakers, whose presentations made the event meaningful; the students from the Music Education Division of the Department of Fine Arts Education at the Faculty of Education, who enriched the event with their musical performances; and all our department’s students for their participation and support.

Happy World Voice Day!
