Program Information

The Department of Speech and Language and Therapy was established within our university in June 2015, under the Faculty of Health Sciences. It started accepting undergraduate students in the fall semester of the 2019-2020 academic year. Our department had its first graduates in 2023.

Title

Graduates of the program receive the title of " Speech and Language Therapist".

Post-Graduation Working Conditions Speech and Language Therapists can provide services in many areas in our country.

Pre-school education institutions, private clinics and rehabilitation centers, guidance research centers, universities, public hospitals, private hospitals, military hospitals, schools and elderly care homes are among the institutions where they can be employed.

Student Registration and Acceptance Conditions

Candidates must get sufficient points from the university exam (numerical MF-3). The academic year is 4 years and the language of instruction is Turkish.

Program Outcomes

  1. Applies the knowledge and skills gained in the field of speech and language disorders in the prevention, assessment, diagnosis and intervention process in line with ethical principles and decides the course of the process.
  2. Works independently or in collaboration with related professional groups in the professional/academic field, in line with the knowledge and experience gained in the field of speech and language disorders.
  3. Has current and scientifically based theoretical and practical knowledge about the field of speech and language disorders.
  4. Knows how to make a differential diagnosis, create and apply a therapy program in the prevention, assessment and intervention processes in the field of speech and language disorders.
  5. Has the ability to use the necessary equipment in assessment and intervention processes in the field of speech and language disorders.
  6. Uses theoretical and practical knowledge in assessment and intervention processes in line with evidence-based practices in the field of speech and language disorders.
  7. Keeps records and prepares reports during assessment and intervention processes in the field of speech and language disorders.
  8. Continues professional development by following current and scientific sources in the field of speech and language disorders with a critical approach.
  9. Treats individuals without discrimination of language, religion or race in the assessment and intervention processes in the field of speech and language disorders.
  10. Provides services to prevent speech and language disorders and protect public health, sets an example for the society, and contributes to the production of health policies for these services.
  11. Provides counseling and organizes training to the families/relatives of individuals who need counseling in the field of speech and language disorders.
